We anticipated that the pets would be going to be moving a great
deal, so always use a fast shutter speed to avoid having the image
blurred by the pet's movement. Shoot at a minimum of 200. However,
if you want to get a sense of speed in your photos then try to use a
slower shutter speed like 15-30.
Since you are going to shoot a lot with a small aperture and a fast
shutter speed, you will need ISO 200-400 depending on the lighting
condition.
If you are inside a room, you may be able to expose using only
available daylight coming in through a window. More likely, you will
also need supplementary lighting. Flash on camera is the best
option. However, to improve your result bouncing the flash to the
ceiling or reflected from about a 45" angle would be excellent.
